Austin: Project management is a huge discipline, I'm afraid I can't explain it in a comment. But one of the most important topics of this blog is Project Management, so I can only recommend to you to drop by frequently, or to subscribe to the RSS feed (use the links in the top right section of the page).

Alex: scope usually isn't enough - because if customer doesn't know how scope is managed, and if they aren't aware of scope management processes, then it can easily turn into a scope creep. You as a consultant know how it works, but customer doesn't--if you don't make sure they understand how it works, then you are facing serious project failure risks due to scope creeps.

Hi,

It depends on the management team who is handling the process. The smooth operation will be ensured by defining the Scope of work, understanding the deliverable and receivable.

Thanks
